We are a local family run company that has been trading since 1890 in the Cardiff area of South Wales.
The present owners are the third generation to run the Company and the third and fourth are still active in the day to day running of the business. Lowes Soft Drinks is the trading name of Lowe Bros. (Cardiff) Ltd.
Century of Innovation and Experience
Robert Lowe first started to produce soft drinks in the Pontcanna area of Cardiff over 125+ years ago. The business then came into the hands of Mr Albert Cheetham in April of 1947 and has been in the same family since. From the early days of clay-jar packaging and horse-drawn delivery, the company has moved with the times. 'New' glass returnable bottles and motorised transport were adopted in the early part of the Century, carrying the Lowes brand through two World Wars and several generations.

Whilst manufacturing processes and regulations have changed over the years,our values remain the same. We continue to hold quality and customer care in highest regard and of course, you will find proof of this in our product.

With the rise of the supermarkets and the decline of the glass returnable bottle we had to adapt to a new way of trading with the 2ltr PET bottle. Our core business of the local corner shop was declining, working men's clubs were disappearing fast and the public houses were being tied up in major chains, we decided to stop the 1ltr glass bottle and local delivery service and concentrate on a core client base that would in turn distribute our product within the area. Innovation has continued through to the plastic PET bottle revolution and automated production lines, however the traditional recipes and family values have been carried on, throughout the Century of change. This change has also enabled us to sell and distribute our products on a more national basis and we now have customers throughout the UK.
